American Caeleb Dressel set short course world records within the males’s 100-metre butterfly and 50 freestyle occasions at the International Swimming League finals in Budapest on Saturday.
Dressel, 24, clocked 47.78 seconds within the 100 fly, breaking South African Chad le Clos’ earlier document of 48.08.
Dressel later lowered his personal document within the 50 freestyle by 0.08 seconds, setting a time of 20.16 within the Hungarian capital.
“It was a really exciting day and I’m so pleased with the times,” Dressel, who broke Michael Phelps’s 100 fly world document at the 2019 world championships, advised the BBC.

Teams have been racing behind closed doorways in Budapest since Oct. 16 and the ultimate 4 are Energy Standard, Cali Condors, LA Current and London Roar — two from the United States and two from Europe.
World records from Dressel and their ladies’s 4×100 particular person medley relay group helped Cali Condors lead the standings with 267 factors on the primary day of the ISL finals.
